TWENTYNINE PALMS CITY COUNCIL MEETS IN OPEN AND CLOSED SESSION

A wide-ranging meeting of the Twentynine Palms City Council covers administrative employees, medical marijuana definitions, and city signs and trails. Reporter Dan Stork lists those topics and more…
Following a closed session at 5 p.m. to evaluate the performance of the City Development Director and to talk about recruitment of a permanent City Manager, the Twentynine Palms City Council will start the 6 p.m. open session on October 28 with several presentations. These include reports from the Desert Regional Tourism Agency, the Fuller Center for Housing, and Hi-Desert Medical Center. The consent agenda includes approval of a contract with the Chamber of Commerce for the continued operation of the Visitor Center. There will be a public hearing on changes to the Development Code, recently approved by the Planning Commission regarding the definition of medical marijuana dispensaries. The meeting finishes with discussions on a policy for the content of city directional signs, and adoption of the Community Trails Master Plan. The Council meets at City Hall on Adobe Road.
