The Twentynine Palms City Council meets tonight to discuss sewer rates for Project Phoenix, school bond Measure C and, of course, financial matters. Reporter Heather Clisby has the details…
Tonight, the Twentynine Palms Council will discuss a report on the sewer rate fee study and the rate-setting process for customers within the borders of Project Phoenix, the downtown redevelopment project. The customers will have their own package treatment plant and the study focuses on a five-year financial plan. A public hearing on the issue is scheduled for April 7.
Citizens for Safe and Modern Schools will present before the council on the matter of Measure C, a school bond measure that will be on the March 3 ballot. The council will then discuss and determine a collective position.
The council will also review the mid-year financial report for the 2019-2020 fiscal year and consider increasing the Sheriff’s Department contract by nearly $55,000.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
