Luckino on processes
At the July 28 meeting of the Twentynine Palms City Council, City Manager Frank Luckino listed areas in which staff and consultants are establishing processes for public input and participation in several areas: Project Phoenix, development code revision, and the NatureBridge camp development. He warned the council to be ready for a possible special meeting in the wake of one scheduled for the Water District next week, on the disposition of the Fire Department.
Animal Control
Animal Control Officer Rick Boyd gave a statistical summary of his department’s activities, covering intake, adoptions, rabies clinics, and animal supplies drives.
I-10 Closure
Staffer Larry Bowden was commended for his placement of port-a-potties during the traffic influx following the I-10 bridge collapse. Council discussed whether to lay advance plans for potential future traffic emergencies.
Planning Commission stipend
Following the change of the regular Planning Commission meeting schedule to once a month, the stipend for members was changed from $300 per month to $150 per meeting.
