Now on a reduced summer schedule, the Twentynine Palms City Council meets tonight. There will be public hearings regarding improvements and resulting fees for lighting and landscaping in District 1 and proposed development code amendments for trash enclosure standards.

The Council will discuss the $361,000 state funding via the CARES Act – Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security.

In preparation for Project Phoenix, the Council will re-visit a plan to purchase eight properties to fulfill the affordable housing component of the redevelopment plan.

An increase in trash and recycling fees is up for discussion, as is a proposed impact fee and requirements for curb, gutter, and sidewalks on residential streets.

The meeting takes place at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road and begins at 6 pm. Livestreaming and on-demand can be accessed via the City’s website, 29palms.org.
