TWENTYNINE PALMS CITY COUNCIL LOOKS AT DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENTS TONIGHT

The Twentynine Palms City Council will consider allocating $885,000 for improving the city’s downtown commercial corridor at its regular meeting tonight. Project Phoenix, funded entirely by bond sales, would add pedestrian promenades and public parking adjacent to Highway 62.
In other business, the council will consider supporting the “San Bernardino Regional Energy Partnership,” a coalition including Southern California Edison, So Cal Gas and San Bernardino Associated Governments aimed at meeting long-term energy goals.
Finally, the council will vote on submitting the Luckie Park Improvement Project for funding by the Economic Development Agency. The $410,000 project would reconstruct Luckie Avenue, including its curbs and gutters.
The meeting begins 6 p.m. at the Council Chambers on Adobe Road.
