The Twentynine Palms City Council holds a special meeting tonight with only one item on the agenda: a resolution authorizing the city manager to accept property in preparation for Project Phoenix, a multi-million-dollar plan to revitalize the city’s commercial corridor along Highway 62. The city has already acquired several pieces of property standing in the project’s way, and expects to acquire several more. Tonight’s meeting gets underway 5:30 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
