The Twentynine Palms City Council held a marathon, four-hour meeting Tuesday night. The council made a line-item review of the $8 million budget. Among the items reviewed, the Council directed staff to put aside funds to pay for two free dump days for residents. The city will also explore putting solar panels on city-owned properties, to include possible shade parking structures. Among projects included in capital improvements are curbs, gutters, and sidewalks on several streets, 15 to 18 exercise stations at Luckie Park, gateway signage, improvements to Veterans Park, paving the parking lot at the public works building, and installing field lights at Knott’s Sky Park. The city will also explore the possibility of adding a dog park to Knott’s Sky Park.
