City council members in Twentynine Palms are getting a break with what promises to be a very light meeting. Reporter David Haldane explains…
The Twentynine Palms City Council meets tonight with a sparse agenda containing only two potential action items. The first relates to complying with a 2013 State Water Resources Control Board policy requiring cities to develop standards for onsite wastewater treatment systems which, in Twentynine Palms, consist mostly of dual chamber septic tanks. The deadline for compliance is May 13. In the second item, the City will consider refinancing former redevelopment agency bonds to reduce annual payments. Tonight’s meeting gets underway 6 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
