A 10-year-old child was injured Sunday by an arrow. County Fire Captain Dave Bullsworth said firefighters were called to the 74000 block of Samarkand Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 3:45 p.m. for a child who had been shot in the face with an arrow. Sheriff’s deputies say two boys were playing with a bow and arrow in the desert near their home when one of the boys shot the other just below the left eye with an arrow. Morongo Basin Ambulance transported the child to Hi-Desert Medical Center where Mercy Air flew the child to Loma Linda Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
