The Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that it cancelled the carnival for this weekend’s Pioneer Days. Chamber President and Executive Director Jacob Smith said in a statement that the chamber cancelled the carnival “due to scheduling errors on the part of the carnival company that meant the carnival would not be worthy of our Desert Oasis traditions.” Other events for the Pioneer Days celebration, such as the parade, vendors, beer garden, children’s events, and arm wrestling will continue.
