TWENTYNINE PALMS CEMETERY MANAGER ACCUSED OF EMBEZZLEMENT

Twentynine Palms Cemetery General Manager Stacey Lee, who was fired Sunday for cause by the board of trustees, was arrested Tuesday. Thursday morning, the cemetery’s board is holding a special meeting to approve new policies on fraud, petty cash, and giving trustees the authority to sign banking documents. Deputies went to Lee’s home in the 6600 block of Via Allegra in Twentynine Palms about 3:30 p.m. to talk to Lee. Stacey Lee, 50, was arrested about an hour later for investigation of embezzlement, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
