Due to the uncertainty of when the COVID-19 virus quarantine period will end, the Twentynine Palms Cemetery’s Memorial Day committee has decided to cancel the formal Memorial Day ceremony—to include the wreath presentations—for this year. Twentynine Palms residents are encouraged to honor and remember departed veterans in their hearts and prayers. It is hoped that the Mojave Viper Young Marines will still be able to place the flags on the veterans’ graves but this will depend on the status of the quarantine on Memorial Day.
