TWENTYNINE PALMS CEMETERY BOARD GIVE GIFTS TO TWO BOARD MEMBERS

The Twentynine Palms Cemetery District Board met in regular session Thursday afternoon. Reporter Taylor Thacker was there and files this report…

Last night, the Twentynine Palms Cemetery Board announced that Board members Sandra Gray and Les Snodgrass would receive a gift for the work they did for the last 18 months. These two members are not employees of the cemetery, but filled in for the secretary position when the last secretary left. They worked hard without pay and trained the new secretary when the cemetery was finally able to find a new one. Sandra Gray was awarded one inurnment niche for free that usually costs $565, and Les Snodgrass was awarded one burial plot that usually costs $755. Snodgrass was not present at last night’s meeting, but Gray said she is very thankful and appreciative towards the gift. This reward is not a policy performed by the cemetery; the Board members just unanimously agreed that Snodgrass and Gray should receive something for their hard work.
