Twentynine Palms Business Improvement District awards 2nd round of grants

The Twentynine Palms Tourism Business Improvement District met yesterday afternoon and awarded round two Grants and sponsorships for the second half of 2025. The TBID focuses on fostering mutual co-operation between the tourism and business communities to encourage visitors from out of town to spend their dollars in Twentynine Palms. A specific “transit occupancy tax” (TOT) is collected which funds these grants and scholarships throughout the year. Businesses and organizations who received grants up to $20,000 and sponsorships up to $3,000.

For the TBID Round Two Grant Applications, the following applied and the funds they requested were granted in full:

  • Cliffhanger Guides’ 29 Palms Rock Rumble Royale
  • Vacation Races’ Joshua Tree Half Marathon
  • Desert General’s 29 Palms Book Festival
  • Sarah Kotzman’s Aerialnauts
  • 29 Palms Queer Film Festival
  • Friends of Joshua Tree’s Climb Smart

For the TBID Round Two Event Sponsorship Applications, the following applied and all received the funds they requested:

  • Beamed up at Beer Co Art Installation
  • Area 29 Galactic Gathering
  • Adobe Mara Arts Walk
  • Desert Crossroads: musical illuminations under the stars
  • 20th Fall Joshua Tree Music Festival
  • Hi-Orbit Games Hi-Score Contest
  • Invasive Species
  • Spiritual Retreat for Wellness and Chakra Healing
  • JTNP Art Expo
  • Annual Holiday Art and Craft Faire

The general consensus from the Public was that of approval and applicants were visibly relieved to have been granted the funds they requested.
