TWENTYNINE PALMS BOYS’ BASKETBALL WALLOPS COACHELLA VALLEY

Wednesday the Twentynine Palms High School boys’ basketball teams opened Desert Valley League play by hosting the Coachella Valley Arabs. Varsity relied on strong defense and balanced scoring en route to an 81-13 victory. The junior varsity boys won 59-22.

Coach Michael Usher said varsity relied on strong defense and balanced scoring to jump out to a 57-5 halftime lead. Returning from a two-week illness, senior Troy Tuivaiti scored 26 points with six rebounds and six steals, followed by junior Carson Estrada with 10 points and five assists.
