TWENTYNINE PALMS BOYS’ BASKETBALL SWEEPS CATHEDRAL CITY

The Twentynine Palms boys’ basketball teams completed the Desert Valley League sweep of the Cathedral City Lions at home on Thursday night. The Varsity Wildcats beat Cathedral City 77-47.

The team was paced by Junior Jaylan Bradberry with 21 points and 15 rebounds, and Sophomore Jacob Hueso with 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists, improving to 7-4 on the season and 5-1 in the Desert Valley League. The Wildcats will participate in the MaxPreps Holiday Invitational, opening up next Wednesday the 26th against Moreno Valley High School in Rancho Mirage.
The junior varsity boys’ basketball team beat the visiting Lions 73-46, improving to 8-3 on the season, and 6-0 in the Desert Valley League.

Izaiah Leopoldo led the team with 17 points, 10 points, and three steals, and Kam Luna added 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. The junior varsity Wildcats are off for winter break, and return to action on January 8 against Yucca Valley.

The Yucca Valley frosh-soph team remains undefeated with a 66-23 win.

It was a balanced team performance where six players scored eight points or more. Freshman Jeremiah Holmes scored 12 points with 12 rebounds, five blocks and four steals; and sophomores Jaylen Sewell, Quinton Hibler, and Ethan Johnson each scored 11 points. The Wildcats improve to 7-0 on the season.
