TWENTYNINE PALMS BASKETBALL TEAM BEATS CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ junior varsity and varsity basketball teams both won home matches against the Central High School Spartans on Wednesday night. Coach Michael Usher said varsity beat Central 81-61, with a strong team defensive performance which led to a very efficient 60 percent shooting night. The Wildcats improved to 1-1 on the season. A strong varsity performance from junior Jaylen Bradberry, who paced the team with 25 points, eight rebounds and five turnovers, as well as from seniors Tarion Napolean with 15 points, five steals, and three turnovers, and Neolani Bullion with 12 points, eight rebounds, and two turnovers.
 
The junior varsity Wildcat boys won by a score of 62-32. They were paced by juniors Khari Applewhite with 13 points and four steals, Trey Crump with nine points, and Izaiyah Leopoldo with 11 points and five steals. The win brings the JV Wildcats to 1-1 on the season, as they continue play in the Rancho Mirage Showdown in the Snake Pit basketball game Friday night against Shadow Hills High School.
