TWENTYNINE PALM MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Thursday morning after he led Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed pursuit. According to a Sheriff’s report, Deputy Sean Lenihan saw a white BMW without a license plate at the intersection of Adobe Road and Highway 62 about 12:20 a.m. Lenihan attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as Jerome Eads, 23, sped off at a high rate of speed. Lenihan said Eads drove recklessly through residential neighborhoods and failed to stop at multiple stop signs. Eads lost control of the BMW in the 73600 block of Sunnyvale Drive, where it spun out and became disabled. Eads fled from the car on foot, but Lenihan captured him at a home in the 73600 block of Sunnyslope Drive. Jerome Eads was arrested for investigation of felony evading, and is being held without bail for violating the terms of his post-release community supervision.
