Troy Reynolds found guilty in hit-and-run death of Joshua Barreras

On Thursday (3/26) afternoon, Troy Reynolds was found guilty on all counts related to a hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a Yucca Valley teenager. Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Deputies found Joshua Barreras lying in the center median of Twentynine Palms Highway on the night of January 26, 2024; he died from his injuries later that night. Reynolds was charged with felony hit-and-run resulting in permanent injury or death, with two aggravating factors. The jury deliberated for just under two hours before delivering the guilty verdict.

Deputies took Troy Reynolds into custody; he is being held without bail until sentencing on April 29.
