The Yucca Valley High School Trojan wrestling team had a great weekend. On Thursday (December 9) the team had a dual against Coachella Valley High School. The girls won with 70 points to Coachella’s six points, with great matches by Adelina Rialmo and Lacy Tavzel. The boys’ dual was close most of the night coming down to the last two matches, ending with a tough loss having 27 points to Coachella Valley’s 48, with great matches from Adyan O’Brien, Eric Vera, and Roy Lara.
On Saturday (December 11) the girls placed fourth out of 16 teams at the Tustin High School Slammin tournament. Ashley Barber placed second and Miah Weldon placed third with great matches from all the girls.
Also on Saturday (December 11) the boys wrestled at the Andrea Peña tournament at Irvine High School. The team placed 10th of 20 teams. Nick Greene placed 3rd and Eric Vera placed 4th with some really strong matches from all the boys.
