TROJAN TENNIS BEATS TWENTYNINE PALMS

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan girls’ varsity tennis team beat Twentynine Palms, 14-4. With this win, the tennis team is co-champions with Coachella Valley. The league record is 13-1. The team is still ranked eighth in Division 5.

Coach Cindy Miller said in singles, Abby Aubuchon won her three sets, 6-2, 6-1, 6-2. Mckayla Henry also won, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1; and Eden Ricketts went 6-3, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).

In doubles, Mckenzi Monical and Rylie Rohr took down Twentynine Palms’ number 1 doubles team, 6-4, 6-1, 6-1. Alex Costa and Jadya Henry went 0-6, 2-6, 6-0; and Rachelle Henriquez and Kennia Torres scored 3-6, 5-7, 6-2.

This was a great team win. The girls worked hard all summer and throughout the season to be number 1 in the league. Great job team. Mckenzi Monical and Rylie Rohr finished with a record of 41-1. They got revenge against the Twentynine Palms girls today. That was their only loss of the season. The team played really well together all season. They worked hard to make their teammates better.
