TROJAN SWIM TEAM OWNS THE POOL IN MEET AGAINST BANNING

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan swim team owned the pool at their meet against Banning yesterday.

Boys’ varsity won 121-22. Girls’ varsity won 136-15. Girls’ junior varsity won 90-21.

The record-breaking boys’ medley team of Sam Evdokimoff, Griffin Hilderbrand, Carl Manter, and Aaden Poyuzina bettered their time. The boys’ 200-meter free relay of S. Evdokimoff, Poyuzina, Manter, and Robert Reyes earned a CIF Con cut, as well as, the 400-meter free relay that included Kaden Foster.

The girls’ medley team of Skye Hansen, Annie Hilderbrand, Ashley Amstutz, and Markina Evdokimoff finished first for a CIF Con cut. The 200-meter free relay of Hansen, Jordyn Koger, Kendall Cox, and M. Evdokimoff bettered their cut time by 3 seconds. M. Evdokimoff earned cuts for the 200-meter individual medley and 500-meter free. Hansen earned for the 50-meter free in the lead-off leg for the 200-meter free relay. The 400-meter relay of Koger, Cox, Amstutz, and Nicole Godoy swam for a time as well.

Next up, the Trojans travel to Indio on March 18.
