TROJAN BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL LOST TO CATHEDRAL CITY

Yucca Valley High School boys’ basketball hosted Cathedral City last night. Varsity lost 52-57 on Senior Night. Jr. Rodriguez, Bryce Mitchell and Greg Sanchez were honored. 

Top scorers were Jr Rodriguez with 20 points, three assists, and three steals. Braden Brimhall had 10 points and four rebounds, and Bryce Mitchell scored 7 points, four rebounds, and two blocks.

Junior varsity won 83-36. Troy Worrell scored 23 points with six rebounds; Paul Quin made 16 points and six rebounds; and Jacob Rideout had 12 points and eight rebounds.

The game was won on the offensive side with the team shooting 56 percent from the floor and 60 percent from the free throw line.

The frosh-soph team won 67-62. Top scorers were Demar Smith with 26 points; Tua Kakalia made 14 points, with 12 rebounds, and two blocks; and David Jimenez scored 11 points with three rebounds. The game was close throughout until some key defensive plays brought the offense to life. They hit some key shots with two minutes to play to solidify the win.
