Yucca Valley High School boys’ soccer played a tough match against Desert Hot Springs and varsity lost, 5-1. Junior varsity lost 7-0.
Yucca Valley High School varsity and junior varsity teams played tough games against Desert Hot Springs Tuesday night at home, with both teams suffering losses. Varsity held off the DHS Golden Eagles during the first half, with only one goal against them. The second half proved to be more difficult, as the Golden Eagles returned to score four more goals in the final moments.
Head Varsity Coach Jorge Rodriguez noted, “We just couldn’t score when we had the chance.”
Senior Kyler Harlow was named Player of the Match for his effort, winning 50-50 balls and leading the team through a tough match.
Despite tying against the Golden Eagles the first round, junior varsity walked away with a devastating 7-0 loss. Freshman Landon Gradilla was named player of the match for keeping his head in the game and never giving up.
