Yucca Valley High School Trojan boys’ soccer coaches George Rodriguez and Adan Mendoza hosted their first virtual conditioning meet-up Wednesday via the Zoom app. Using socks as markers in lieu of cones, the YVHS students practiced on their footwork from home as coaches directed them on execution and technique.
Mendoza admitted there was a learning curve to the process. “I was a little nervous we wouldn’t be able to successfully do a virtual meet-up. I had never done one before or seen one done before, but we managed to get through it. It was great to see the kids actually doing the drills on the other end.”
Virtual conditioning will be held weekly for any students interested in joining the soccer program next season, or for any students interested in keeping themselves active while schools remain closed. Students who wish to participate, but lack access are encouraged to contact Coach Mendoza to see if an alternative method can be worked out.
