TROJAN BASKETBALL OPENS LEAGUE PLAY IN THRILLER AGAINST CATHEDRAL CITY

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan boys’ basketball team started the league season with a thriller.  The Trojans traveled to Cathedral City and played a back-and-forth game that ended in a Trojan victory, 53-49.  Sophomore Myles Harper led the way with terrific defense the whole night.  The Trojans were helped with key buckets by seniors, Aidan Gamboa, Marcos Jimenez, DeMar Smith, and Cooper Hopton.  Leading scorer for the Trojans was sophomore Jadon Pierce with 17 including a huge 3 pointer late in the game.  The Trojans are now 2-5 (1-0 in league) and will host Desert Hot Springs Friday (December 10) night at 6 p.m.
