The Yucca Valley High School boys’ basketball team fought a hard battle in their CIF playoff game against Woodcrest Christian on Tuesday (February 15) night. In the end, the Trojans came up short in overtime play, 58-61. The back-and-forth game was filled with big plays and wild momentum swings on both sides. Seniors Demar Smith and Aidan Gamboa ended their high school basketball careers admirably with notable individual efforts, and Sophomore Myles Harper’s standout performance was emblematic of the energy and heart shown by the team throughout the night. With their exit from the playoffs, the Trojans culminate a very successful season under the leadership of their new head coach, Jake Possehl. The team wishes to thank their Trojan community for all the support throughout the season and look forward to a bright future.
