On Senior Day, the Yucca Valley High School varsity baseball team went out in a big way against their main rivals, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats. Coach Josh Griswold said Brandon Goodpaster threw a no-hitter, striking out 11 batters in five innings, while only allowing one walk. Goodpaster also went 1-1 with a three-run double and two walks, scoring three times on the day. Senior Clay Smith went 2-2 with a walk and drove in three runs. Senior Andy Davis went 1-2 with a walk and an RBI, and senior Hayden Higgins went 1-3. The four seniors were honored with their families after the game.
The Trojans moved to 8-5 in league play and clinched third place, which should put them in position for a CIF playoff game.
