The Yucca Valley High School varsity Trojan baseball team completed a two-game sweep of Banning High School.
They defeated the Broncos 12-0 last Tuesday (March 22) in Banning behind solid defense and hitting. Trent Morrison led the way with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s. Ryder Rohr pitched another dominant game, pitching 5 scoreless innings and striking out 6 Broncos.
On Friday (March 25), the Trojans pulled out the victory in spectacular fashion in the bottom of the 7th inning on Ryder Rohr’s walk-off double to right field that scored the tying and winning runs.
The Trojans were trailing for most of the game, but they never gave up. Timely hits by Connor Gay, Arsh Rehman, Cam Elias, and Gabe Morones combined with a circus catch by Marcus Cox helped lead to the amazing comeback victory. Gabe Morones came into pitch 3 solid innings and picked up the victory for the Trojans.
Next up for the Trojans is a home match-up against Indio today (March 29) at 3:15 p.m.
