The passing of Joshua Tree violinist Tim Kelly in a bicycle-versus-car crash last Sunday night has brought out tributes. A parade with marching band will be held Saturday morning, along with a tribute, at the Joshua Tree farmers’ market. Community members may express condolences and share memories in a book to be given to his family. Kelly’s music recorded by Ted Quinn will be played in tribute in the Z107.7 Local Music Showcase with Pat Michaels this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. A more formal memorial for his family and friends will be held at Harrison House on June 28, when his family, including sister Kathie Kelly-Brophy, will be there. Community leaders say Kelly’s music and presence touched everyone in Joshua Tree and he will be missed by many.
