Triangle of light due to SpaceX Falcon launch

If you saw a bright triangle of light in the sky above the hi desert a bit after 9 p.m. last night (July 19,) you were looking at a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch out of Vandenberg Space Force Base near Lompoc.

The rocket is carrying Star Link satellites into orbit around the Earth. Last night’s launch was delayed from Wednesday (July 18) owing to foggy weather. If you missed last night’s launch, there are two more Falcon 9 launches scheduled at Vandenberg for July 30 and August 30.
