TRANSIENT ARRESTED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS FOLLOWING A TRAFFIC STOP

A transient man was arrested in Twentynine Palms Thursday afternoon on charges of providing false identity. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the corner of Adobe Road and Cactus Avenue in Twentynine Palms. During contact, the man in the passenger seat of the vehicle provided identification to the officer. A records check showed that the man did not match the identification he had provided. The driver of the vehicle then identified the man as Leo Campos, 38. A records check showed that Campos had a no-bail warrant. Campos was arrested for investigation of providing a false identity to a peace officer and booked into the Morongo Basin jail without bail.
