TRANSIENT ACCUSED OF VANDALISM, BURGLARY IN YUCCA VALLEY

A transient was arrested Thursday, accused of burglarizing a vehicle at a construction site. Shortly before 10 a.m., deputies were called to a construction site in the 58900 block of Sunnyslope in Yucca Valley. Employees at the construction site noticed that the chain-link fence had been cut and two locked vehicles inside the fenced-in area had been vandalized. In addition, one vehicle had batteries stolen. Damage was estimated at $1400. Evidence at the scene led deputies to Adrian Gutierrez, 38, in a nearby transient encampment, where they found the stolen batteries. Deputies learned that Gutierrez was out on bail for felony theft. Adrian Gutierrez was arrested on suspicion of vandalism, burglary, and committing a felony while on bail. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000.
