TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST

A routine traffic stop in Twentynine Palms resulted in an arrest for drug possession Sunday morning. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a vehicle about 10:30 a.m. near Manzanita and Sullivan Roads for having an expired registration. During the stop, the deputy asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, and a passenger, Martin Juarez, 38, admitted he had a form of concentrated marijuana known as “wax.” The deputy found the wax in the passenger door. Martin Juarez was arrested for felony possession of cannabis, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
