A traffic stop in Twentynine Palms led to two arrests and the confiscation of a suspected drug dealer’s “little black book.”
Early Saturday morning (August 3) just after 3:30 a.m., a deputy with the County Sheriff’s Morongo Basin Station reports conducting a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Silverado near the intersection of Samarkand Drive and Morongo Road for driving on the wrong side of the road, failing to signal when changing lanes, and improperly displayed license plates.
The deputy identified the driver of the Chevrolet as Jarrod Billow, and the trucks’ passengers as a man on county probation, and Heather Beecroft, 32, who had an active warrant for misdemeanor drug charges.
During a probation search of the vehicle, the deputy reported finding Beecroft in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. Billow was found with a backpack containing methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with small denomination bills, a scale, and several pairs of plastic gloves. Also found in the truck was what deputies described as a small journal with several names, followed by a monetary amount, and the words “Jarrod’s Bill Collector Book.”
Jarrod Billow was arrested on suspicion of transporting a controlled substance. Heather Beecroft was arrested for her active warrant and possession of a controlled substance. Both were booked into the Morongo Basin station and have since been released.
