The Twentynine Palms High School swim team traveled to Yucca Valley High School to meet Trojans in their pool last Thursday (March 24). Coach Michelle Minatrea-Te’o said “I am super proud of our swim team. Our team has 6 girls and they placed 1st in 5 events out of 8. Our team of 4 boys placed 1st in 4 events out of 8 events. Our Wildcat team of 10 swimmers competed with the Trojans team of 22 swimmers.” The Wildcats swam an amazing meet but both the ladies and men lost to Yucca Valley High School.
Placing 1st in the following events for the Lady Cats are:
- 200 yard Free Style was Kate Bobadilla.
- 50 and 100 yard Free Style was Patricia Zuniga.
- 500 yard Free Style was Virginia Johnson.
- 400 yard Free Relay Team: P. Zuniga, K. Bobadilla, Nadia Moreno and Madi Soster.
Placing 2ndwas:
- Nadia Moreno who swam the 200 yard Free Style.
- Madi Soster in the 50 yard Free Style.
- 200 yard Free Relay Team: M. Soster, K. Bobadilla, N. Moreno and P. Zuniga.
- Kate Bobadilla in the 100 yard Breast Stroke.
Placing 3rd was:
- Nadia Moreno in the 100 yard Free Style.
- Staysia Jenkins who swam the 500 yard Free Style and the 100 yard Back Stroke.
- Madi Soster who swam the 100 yard Breast Stroke.
Placing 4th was:
- Virginia Johnson who swam the 100 yard Back Stroke.
The men results are as follows:
1stplace finish were:
- Daviahn Thrasher in the 200 yard Free Style.
- Aiden Sullivan who swam the 50 and 100 yard Free Style.
- 400 yard Free Relay Team: George Bourikas, Daviahn Thrasher, Moses Williams and Aiden Sullivan.
2ndplace were:
- George Bourikas in the 50 and 500 yard Free Style.
- 200 yard Free Relay Team: G. Bourikas, D. Thrasher, M. Williams and A. Sullivan.
- Daviahn Thrasher who swam the 100 yard Back Stroke.
4thplace were:
- Moses Williams in the 100 yard Free Style and 100 yard Breast Stroke.
