The TPHS Ladycats hosted the Arabs from Coachella Wednesday (October 6). The JV team won in 2 sets: 25-18 and 25-15. Haley Christeson had one kill. Tui Young had 2 kills. Jadyn Bauer had 1 kill, 3 ace serves and 6 assists. Shakinah Dowell had 1 ace, 1 assist and 2 kills. Lindie Stewart served up 5 ace serves and had 2 kills for the night.
The varsity team fought hard to win the first set against the undefeated Arabs 31-29. But fell short the next 3 sets: 22-25, 15-25 and 17-25. Junior Gabby Wunderlee had 3 kills. Senior Leah Engesser had 4 kills. Senior Mya Bullion was big at the net with 25 touches and 4 kills. Senior Mya Chacon had 7 kills and 21 digs. Senior Alana Gutierrez had 35 digs. Freshman Jenica Silvas had 17 digs, 14 assists, and served up 4 aces. Sophomore Kyla Palpallatoc lead the team in kills with 11 and had 21 digs for the night. The Cats are now 8-4 in league and travel to Desert Mirage on Monday (October 11).
