TOWN RECALL PROPONENTS TOLD TO FIX PETITIONS AND RESUBMIT

The proponents of a recall of two members of the Yucca Valley Town Council were told yesterday to fix some issues on the petitions and resubmit them. According to recall spokesman Ron Cohen, the petitions were presented to the Yucca Valley Town Clerk Jamie Anderson last Monday; she provided comments to Cohen Thursday evening after the Town Council meeting, and an official letter was received Monday. Cohen said they expect to fix the issues and resubmit the petitions to the Town Clerk today. Cohen, while saying he would keep Z107.7 News informed of the status as the recall progresses, did not say what changes were requested on the letter and said he could not provide the letter to Z107.7. The Deputy Town Manager Leslie Copeland said one signature was invalid, the heading needed to be in the proper format, The “Declaration of Circulator” needed new wording, and other minor format changes.
