TOWN OF YUCCA VALLEY SPREADS CHEER TO SENIORS

The holiday season can often be a tough time for our seniors because of difficulties traveling or lack of family presence. The Town of Yucca Valley recreation staff has joined with community organizers to provide assistance. Reporter Joshua King has more details…

Even though the Yucca Valley Senior Center remains closed, Recreation Leader Nena McCullough joined with the community to ensure that our local homebound seniors felt appreciated and cared for this holiday season. Through generous donations by community organizations and individuals, 140 holiday care packages including puzzles, games, books, slippers, gloves, food, specialty teas, and other thoughtful items were created. Gifts were delivered to homebound seniors by the Family Services Association.

For more information, contact the Community Services office at 760-369-7211 or visit the Town website at www.yucca-valley.org. Please note town offices are closed through January 3.
