TOWN OF YUCCA VALLEY SAYS AVOID THE HIGHWAY

The Town of Yucca Valley is urging residents to use alternate routes, avoiding State Route 62 as a massive Highway project continues. Caltrans has begun a $48 million mill and overlay project from just north of Indian Canyon Ave in Desert Hot Springs to Yucca Mesa Road in Yucca Valley, including a section in Twentynine Palms. This major project is anticipated to be completed by summer 2023. The project with safety lane closures is creating additional congestion in the Town and motorists are encouraged to use Onaga Trail, Sunnyslope Ave, Paxton Road, and Yucca Trail as alternative east-west travel.

The Town of Yucca Valley encourages motorists to plan ahead, leave a little earlier, and try to be patient during construction.   For up-to-date project and work location information, please visit the Caltrans website at https://state-route-62-mill-and-overlay.constantcontactsites.com/
