Town of Yucca Valley asking public for help in naming Old Town Beautification Project

The Town of Yucca Valley is seeking suggestions from the public for the naming of its new development.

Part of the Old Town Beautification and Sustainability Project, the Town is soliciting names from residents for the facility, which is currently under construction but is expected to be completed later this spring. The facility, which is located on Elk Trail and Twentynine Palms Highway in Old Town Yucca Valley, will feature restrooms, parking and electric vehicle charging, and a picnic area, with longer term plans for a playground, fountain and performance space.

Names should be related to the location, geological features near the project, the area’s cultural or historical significance, or a deceased person who made significant contributions to the community.

The suggestion period opens today and will remain open until May 1. Naming proposals received will be shared with the Commission on May 14, who will make a recommendation for final action by the Town Council on May 20.

For more information regarding the naming of the new facility, visit the Town’s Community Services serction of their website at www.yucca-valley.org or contact the Community Services Office at 760-369-7211.
