TOURISTS INJURED IN ROLL-OVER CRASH IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

Five Korean tourists had a drive in Joshua Tree National Park Thursday that was a little more exciting that than they had planned. County Fire Captain Trent Blanchard said Joshua Tree firefighters were called about 7:15 to a roll-over crash on Geology Tour Road. Blanchard said that two tourists who were slightly injured managed to get to the Morongo Basin Ambulance station in Joshua Tree, where they reported their rental SUV had rolled over. MBA treated the injuries, and transported the victims to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. The other three visitors, who were not injured, had stayed with the vehicle, which was located off a dirt road four miles down Geology Tour Road by a helicopter about 7:45 p.m. A tow truck was called to right the vehicle.
