TOURING LOCAL BAND KICKS OFF NEW CD RELEASE, PERFORMS TONIGHT

A local band that’s been on a national tour is back home in the desert this weekend to release its new CD, “Soul: How I keep Moving On.” Gene Jr. and the Family, is made up of Piper Robinson on the bass, Tyler Sacara on drums, Amanda Davis on backup vocals and Gene Evaro Jr. on guitar and vocals.  They have been touring with Elle King in Ohio, Indiana, Nashville, and Hollywood, with future concert dates in New York and Boston. Gene Jr. and the Family will hold a special surprise concert tonight  for local residents (Saturday, July 11) at the Joshua Tree Trading Post. And tomorrow, Pat Michaels will feature the band on the Local Music Showcase on Z107.7, starting at 4 p.m.
