In the wake of the annual Pioneer Days celebration, turmoil at the Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce. At a special closed session of the Chamber Board Thursday, October 22, Vice President Kim Ortamond, who was set to take the presidency, resigned effective immediately. Yesterday, the Chamber issued a statement that President Melanie Roberts has also resigned effective November 1. The statement said board member Carey Alderson has been named as interim president. The Twentynine Palms Chamber has not announced the financial results of this year’s Pioneer Days event.
