For Pioneer Days this year, the Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce invited schools to take part in the Pioneer Days Parade Float Challenge. The competition was suggested by a teacher to encourage schools to participate and compete in a contest which would team parents, students, and teachers in the task of designing and building a float focusing on each year’s unique Pioneer Days theme. While all the schools that participated did a great job, the one chosen that best depicted the theme “Pioneers & Patriots” was Oasis Elementary School of Twentynine Palms. Oasis Elementary will be
recognized as the first recipient of the traveling perpetual plaque. Congratulations to Oasis Elementary School.
