Friday, August 7 is the deadline for candidate filing for the November Consolidated Election. Several local board seats are open including two seats on the Morongo Valley Community Services District, and two seats on the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency board of directors serving Landers and Flamingo Heights. Qualified candidates must be registered voters living in the district they aim to represent. Citizen who wish to run must obtain and file the appropriate documents. Forms for the Morongo Valley CSD are available from, General Manager Donna Munoz at 760-363-6454. Forms for the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency are available at Agency offices at 622 South Jemez Trail in Flamingo Heights or by calling 760-364-2315.
