“Together We Can Dream” Prayer Bowl to honor Martin Luther King Jr on Mon. Jan 16

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, faith leaders in Twentynine Palms will conduct a Prayer Bowl, featuring a walk of solidarity down Adobe Rd, on Monday (January 16).

The theme of this year’s event is, “Together We Can Be the Dream,” inspired by the 60th anniversary of Dr. King’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech.

The event will begin at the Little Church of the Desert at 8 a.m., where participants will walk about one mile to the Palms Baptist Church, with the arrival expected by 9 a.m. At Palms Baptist Church, welcoming and closing remarks will be delivered by Layton Matthews, and the event will feature words from faith leaders from across the desert including Pastor David Squyers, Bishop Perry Ford, Pastor Mike Maddy, and Reverend Don Thursby.

A brown bag lunch will be provided to all attendees at the end of the program.
