TODDLER AND MOM ESCAPE INJURY IN YUCCA VALLEY ROLL-OVER, BUT NOT A TICKET

A woman and her toddler escaped serious injury when their vehicle hydroplaned and overturned on Old Woman Springs Road about 1 p.m. yesterday. According to the Sheriff’s Department, the unidentified driver hit water on the road near San Juan Road and hydroplaned before going off the highway and rolling over. Both victims were taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center as a precaution. The girl was too small for the booster seat she was in, and her mother was cited for unsafe speed and having her child in the wrong type of child restraint for her age.
