The regularly scheduled meeting of the Hi-Desert Water District for today in Yucca Valley (April 6) has been canceled. While in Joshua Tree, directors at the Joshua Basin Water District will meet at the regular 5:30 p.m. time. Reporter Mike Lipsitz is here with highlights from tonight’s agenda…
At the 5:30 p.m. virtual meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District, there are no action items outside of routine items on the consent agenda, but directors will hear presentations on illegal cannabis cultivation in the Morongo Basin as well as legislative updates on marijuana grow operations. And the board will also receive an update on the agency’s Arrearage Program. And finally, acting general manager Sarah Johnson will be sworn into the office and lose the “acting” modifier in front of her title. The public is invited to observe or participate by phone or on the Zoom platform.
