In Yucca Valley, the Hi-Desert Water District will hold a special 5 p.m. meeting on Covid restrictions following today’s (February 16) regular 4 p.m. meeting. And in Joshua Tree, the gavel comes down to open the regular meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District at 5:30 p.m. Here’s reporter Mike Lipsitz with a roundup of expected highlights…
At a public hearing at the Hi-Desert Water District later today, the board continues the process of moving from at large to district-based elections. This will be the second of four required hearings on the path to determining how to best equitably divide the water district’s service area into voting districts. The board has until April 17 to complete the hearings and settle on new maps. Directors at the Joshua Basin Water District will take up Covid restrictions and the results of an evaporative cooler study during the regular session.
The public is invited to observe or participate in both meetings by phone or on the Zoom platform.
